Jut before Easter 2023 God gave me a dream to paint Golgotha.  It was so powerful I woke up and it took over an hour of drawing and painting it in my head before I could go back to sleep.  I decided to use a very heavily textured paint and use all palette knife on wood because the paint is so heavy. 

During the third hour of Jesus being on the cross, the sky turned black.  Here it is showing what happened at that time. 

In the sixth hour Jesus said "It is finished", meaning He took our sins to the cross and sacrificed Himself, for us.  When He gave up His Spirit, the earth Quaked (shown here also) and the curtain before the Arc of the Covenant in the Temple, tore in half.  That is where the 10 Commandments were. 

This impressionistic painting depicts just what happened at that time.  Although it was about 3 in the afternoon when he died, I have taken artists liberty to show time and made it a sunset.  You can also see the sunlight on the crosses and the shadow from them as well.  Almost everyone who is a believer, says how Powerful this painting is.  I'm hoping it is for you too.
